Position Summary:Join the Wood Center staff as a student worker in the fun and dynamic Student Activities Office.
Join the Student Activities team and help us create events for all of campus! As a part of SAO, you will get to help with Nanook Traditions events, comedy shows, game nights, movies, and many more campus activities. You will gain skills in marketing, event planning, budgeting, communication, and networking. Work hours will be arranged; expect evenings and weekends.
Anticipated start date is August 15th - August 20th.
Exemplary interpersonal skills and creativity. Ability to assist with program planning, budget management, staffing events, creating publicity/advertisements, collaborating with other departments on campus, website management, and social networking. Must possess excellent organizational skills, computer skills and people skills. Prior satisfactory experience working in an office environment. Must have basic clerical skills and pay close attention to details. Ability to give a favorable impression to the public in appearance and attitude, adapt to changes in workload, work in cooperation with other employees. Good customer service skills. Must be able to use independent judgment and work with limited supervision. Must have event planning experience. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Typical Education or Training:
Photoshop/Illustrator experience, marketing experience, knowledge of campus activities and UAF, have served on a programing board.
